Beloved around the world, this beautiful company has been making headlines for more than half a century, and they’ve never looked better, according to The New York Times, who recently hailed their “radiant, triumphant” performances. Founded in 1969 in a church basement, Dance Theatre of Harlem is now a singular presence in the ballet world, performing repertoire that includes treasured classics as well as innovative contemporary works that use the language of ballet to celebrate their founder Arthur Mitchell’s belief that ballet belongs to everyone.
