Christopher Newport University’s Ferguson Center for the Arts has become an international force, presenting the finest cultural attractions in the world. Nearly 3 million patrons have experienced hundreds of performances in our acoustically superb theatres.

The Ferguson Center's mission is to engage the community by providing access to the finest artists in the world. We are proud to have maintained our status as the region's leading performing arts center for over 20 years. 

Designed by renowned architects I.M. Pei and Henry Cobb, the Ferguson Center is a world-class venue. Audiences from throughout Virginia and beyond enjoy year-round attractions that have included such talent as tenor Andrea Bocelli, Diana Ross, John Legend, Josh Groban, Joan Baez, Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis, Jay Leno, Ziggy Marley, Liza Minnelli, and Broadway shows including Jersey BoysThe Book of Mormon, The King and I and Disney's Beauty and the Beast, among others.

The Ferguson Center features a 1,700-seat Diamonstein Concert Hall, a 500-seat Peebles Theatre, and a 250-seat Studio Theatre. It also houses the departments of Fine Art, Art History, Music, Theatre, and Dance. The Center also includes a dance studio, workshop, and rehearsal spaces.
