Join us for “New Voices,” a series of virtual concerts featuring music by incredibly exciting, up-and-coming artists and composers, all curated by Broadway composer Drew Gasparini.
Guest artist Caroline Kay is a Dublin-born writer, composer, and performer. Her authentic voice is influenced by a combination of Irish writing, contemporary musical theatre and a range of singer-songwriters. With a degree in English and Music and a master’s in performance from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, she has been writing and performing much of her life.
As a performer, she made her professional debut playing Jenny Cavilleri in the off-West End production of Love Story, and some other performing credits include Drew Gaspirini’s I Could Use A Drink, The Clockmaker’s Daughter (studio album and concert production at Cadogan Hall) and special guest for Ramin Karimloo and the Broadgrass Band (The Other Palace).
Caroline has released two EPs of her original music - Notes (2017) and tricks (2019) - which both went to number 1 in the Irish iTunes Album Charts. In the first lockdown of 2020, she and West End’s David Hunter wrote, produced and starred in their Musical Short, The Space Between, released by What’s on Stage. 2021 saw the successful production of two workshops of Caroline’s original musical, Daisy, for which she has written the book, music, and lyrics. Further development of this musical is currently underway.
Broadway composer Drew Gasparini is a thrilling musician equally committed to forging a new sound in the intersection between theatre and pop, to nurturing the next generation of artists, and to throwing one hell of a party. He is an award-winning musical theatre composer and lyricist, a singer/songwriter, a comedian and a teacher. His unique brand of musical theatre concerts have been performed to sold-out houses around the world, including The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center.
